Lujiazui is worth visiting for the scale beneath the towers and the contrast with the Bund. Pick one observation deck at most, and only when visibility is good. The public waterfront and a ferry crossing usually add more to the day than a second indoor viewpoint.

What to see
The tower cluster from ground level
Walk around the central footbridges before deciding on a paid view. The close spacing and changing angles explain the district’s scale better than a quick taxi drop-off.
One observation deck
Choose one only when visibility is good. If the tops of nearby towers disappear into haze or cloud, keep the budget and give the time to the waterfront instead.

Move south along the public river edge, then use the ferry when its live route and operating time match your evening plan.

Orient from the footbridges
Start above the roundabout, identify the Oriental Pearl Tower, Jin Mao Tower, Shanghai World Financial Center and Shanghai Tower, then descend on the side that serves your next stop.
Make a weather decision before paying
Check visibility from outside. Observation-deck ticket rules differ, so use the current official channel for the tower you choose rather than relying on an old price list.
Finish at the river
The southern waterfront creates a natural route towards Dongchang Road. Confirm the ferry destination before entering because different lines from the same pier finish at different Puxi points.

- Search 陆家嘴, 陆家嘴中心绿地 and 东昌路渡口 in Chinese map apps.
- The elevated pedestrian network is useful for orientation but adds stairs and indirect turns.
- Choose a tower for its specific view, price and queue rather than trying to enter all of them.
- Dongchang Road serves more than one ferry line; destination and final departure time matter.
- The Dongjin ferry line is pedestrian-only and finishes earlier than the Dongfu line according to current official guidance.
Lujiazui is a working financial district as well as a visitor landmark. The towers, malls, metro interchanges, green spaces and river edge operate at different levels, so a route that looks direct on a map may involve bridges, underpasses and security entrances.
