Who writes and checks the guides
China with Amu is written and edited by Amu. Firsthand experience can explain how a trip feels or where an operational handoff can fail; it does not replace a rule issued by police, customs, immigration, a port or another responsible authority. The author profile and background are available on the About page.
Evidence labels
Important statements are separated into national rule, local procedure, port confirmation, operational advice, traveller experience and not verified. “Must” is used only when the applicable rule or approved itinerary supports it. Unknown values remain “Not verified”; they are not silently turned into Yes or No.
Living information
National police and customs rules are normally reviewed every 180 days. Port handling is reviewed every 30 days and again for each real case. Navigation and payment tests are reviewed every 90 days. Road notices use their own start and end dates. When a high-risk record passes its review date, the site removes any current-looking status and shows a verification warning.
Dates and substantive changes
A visible last-verified date records when the cited scope was checked. The page modification date changes only after a substantive, human-reviewed update that can affect a traveller’s decision. A rebuild, spelling edit or image adjustment does not create a new editorial date.
Commercial scope
A route review identifies missing evidence and operational dependencies. It is not a government approval, permit, border guarantee or promise that a route will remain open. Fees and lead times are not presented as universal facts without a named route, port, vehicle and confirmation date.
