01Rules that can end a trip
Follow the sign, the permitted route and the points record.
Speed and route
National rule- Posted signs and markings take priority.
- Where no sign applies, default limits depend on road conditions and vehicle type; do not use one nationwide city/highway range.
- Expressways have a general maximum of 120 km/h and minimum of 60 km/h, subject to signs, lanes and vehicle class.
- Driving outside the area or route printed on the temporary plate document is an offence.

- Failure to slow/stop/yield at a pedestrian crossing: three points
- Improper emergency-lane use on an expressway or urban express road: six points

- Move people behind a barrier or to a safe area.
- Record road, direction, kilometre marker and nearest exit.
- Contact the coordinator, insurer or recovery service.
- Confirm any detour before leaving the approved route for repair.
